RHS

The RHS, or Royal Horticultural Society, is the UK’s leading gardening charity. It is dedicated to advancing horticulture and promoting good gardening. Founded in 1804 as the ‘London Horticultural Society’ its work currently includes putting on garden shows, granting awards for plant merit, the management of several gardens around the UK, providing advice and education, and striving to get everyone out and enjoying their garden!

This is the mission and strategy of the RHS:

“To be the leading organisation demonstrating excellence in horticulture and promoting gardening.

To translate our vision into practice, and to enable us to deliver real public benefit, we have adopted a strategy setting out the actions we will be taking over the next three years. We have also adopted policies to enable us to share our beliefs with others.”

More information on the Royal Horticultural Society and their work can be found on the RHS website.
